Regrouping. . .
I have been traveling much of the last two weeks. I was in Austin, Texas, speaking at the annual Austin Recovery Organization fund raiser and then last week I spent 5 days in Phoenix speaking at an event, doing a show on television and then a book signing. All experiences were very rewarding.
I love the interactions with every one. They inspire me. Being able to look people in the eyes, shake their hands, or give them a hug, makes the work I do a blessing every single day. However, the down side is that the travel part wears me out a bit. I got home from this last trip on Monday evening at 5:30, mere minutes before our course in miracles group showed up for our weekly potluck dinner and meeting. Twenty one people had gathered before I even got my breath. The good news is that they come every week so the routine is well known. We have a wonderful time, enjoy terrific food and then hope to expand our understanding of the principles of A Course in Miracles. By 8:30, the house is quiet and I can spool down once again.
But this trip took me all of Tuesday to recover from. I think traveling from west to east makes a difference but I doubt that any research supports that. It’s only my simple observation after having done it hundreds of times. The main lesson in all of this is that allowing ourselves time to regroup is necessary to the soul. I did the bare minimum on Tuesday, a bit more yesterday and today I’m back to normal.
Speaking of today, I was on Steve Maraboli’s Empowered Hour at noon today. He has a great show. Interviews tons of writers and motivational speakers. I have been on his show many times and each time it’s fun, informative and uplifting. He has a wonderfully spiritual philosophy. You can google him and then my show too on his page and hear it for yourself. Today, among other things, we talked about my newest book: Peace a day at a time. It just became available on amazon and in bookstores this week. I don’t have it on my own website yet but will just as soon as I can. However, you can immediately go to amazon and it’s there.
Peace . . . is a daily meditation book, drawing on the best of many of the meditations I have written over the years. There is a subject index too so if you are struggling with a specific issue, you can zero in on help for it immediately.
Wow, I feel lucky. The work I do simply fills me up. I hope you feel the same way about the journey you are making. Remember– It’s divine. Without a doubt, it’s divine.
Enjoy the rest of the day. God gifted it to you.
